Introduction
You can find coins、antique、jewellery、bullion and other precious metals easily at any place.MD-5008 metal detector has many functions and convenient to operate. Please read the manual
carefully before using.
Level Metal and Pointer------indicate metals and type
Voice instruction----- If detect the metal, it will be issued fixed-frequency voice instructions
Waterproof search head --------can use under the water.
NOTE: The search head is water proofing, but the control unit is not waterproof.
Telescopic rod with adjustable -----you can adjust the length of the rod to fit you well.
Note: metal detector should use 8 x 1.5v AA batteries. (unequipped)
Preparation 1. Installation
It’s easy to assemble and needn’t any special tools, just follow steps:
1.1 Unscrew the locking device of “4” clockwise .
1.2 Stand with helding the detector, and put it naturally when the distance is about 20CM between
ground and search head. You can adjust the length of rod of “3”.
1.3 Unscrew the locking device of “4” counterclockwise to make it firm.
1.4 Unscrew the nut of “2” to separate from the screw. Insert telescopic rod and it was
aimed at hole, re-insert the screw hole, then tighten the nut.
1.5 Twin the coil round metal rod tightly. Leave a certain length of the coil to adjust the
detection when detect on the uneven ground.
1.6 Insert output cable plug of detector into input jack “17” in front of host. Make sure that pins
are aimed at jack. If not and force to insert, it will damage the pin and the machine can’t
work.
Note: To disconnect the cord, pull the cord by grasping the plug. Never pull the cord itself.
1.7 Unscrew the nut of “2” to adjust the angle of the search head (search head should be
parallel to the ground). Screw the nut to an appropriate level of detection for search
head rotation.
Note: Don’t screw tightly, and don’t use tools such as pliers to tighten it.
2. Installation of battery
Attention:
l Only use required size and recommended new battery.
l Don’t use old , new battery and different type (the standard battery, the
alkaline battery, or rechargeable battery) or different capacity rechargeable
battery together.
2.1 Installation of battery in the machine:
2.1.1 Make the detector power switch “7” to “OFF”.
2.1.2 As picture 2 shown, press the right battery cover and move it follow arrow..
2.1.3 Put four 1.5V dry batteries into battery box, make sure that positive pole and
negative pole is right.
2.1.4 Recover the right battery cover.
2.1.5 As picture 2 shown, press the left battery cover and slide it follow arrow..
2.1.6 Put four 1.5V batteries into box correctly.
2.1.7 Recover the left battery cover.
2.2 An external battery box of batteries installed:
Put NO.1 of 8 X 1.5V dry batteries into box according to “+” ”-“ marked, then close the cover, and insert the output voltage plug into an
external DC IN jack “13”.
Attention:
l Replace old batteries and weak batteries in time; batteries can leak chemicals
which damage electronic components.
l Please remove the batteries, if there are no plans for one week or longer
using detectors.
l Deal with old batteries correctly.
Using earphone, you can extend battery life. Because earphone save more energy than
built-in headset speakers .
3. Testing of battery
If the indicator light is very dark or don’t come on after turn on, the detector
will not be opened, the volume is weak, can not be the appropriate tuning, operation
with instability, or a deviation, then the old battery that the energy shortage, it need to
replace batteries.
4. Adjust level meter
Adjust power switch to off, as picture 3 shown, use screw driver to make the pointer
aim at 0 on dial scale.
5. Earphone
You can connect a stereo phone (unequipped) to the detector, so you can be a
person listening. Use headphones can not just save battery, but also more easily
identify the voice on the subtle changes to achieve better detection effect. Connect the
headset to the detector, it need to insert the plug on the headset to host back-end headphones input jack "12". When you use headphones, the built-in speakers will not sound.
二、 Button Instruction
1. Zero button(“8”)
There is a button on the forefinger position of the hand held metal detector, called
the zerobutton "8." Click on it, the meter pointer will back to 0 on the scale. It must also
point out that when adjust any knobs, must press the zero button down first, release it
after adjust well, in the process of detection, as the environment changes, the pointer of
meter would deviate from the guidelines 0 Scale, when click on the button, the pointer back to
the scale 0. So click this button often in the whole process.
Attention: At the beginning, it takes about one minute to warm up. Otherwise, the
pointer would deviate from the guidelines once release, it will keep normal after preheating.
2. Critical Voice Control (“15”)
Adjust critical sound knob "15", the sound could be from scratch and to the ring for leniency,
when the voices never have to just barely be heard, known as the critical voice.
3. Sensitivity Control（“9”）
It controls sensitivity. Turn the button to the end counter-clockwise, and the sensitivity is the lowest, or It’s the highest. Sensitivity adjustment is
according to environment, not the highest, the better, for example: in "mineralization response" of
a local, high sensitivity would cause false signals, sound equipment chaos everywhere, but something
less than exploration. At this time we should reduce the sensitivity to the complex formation weakened
the impact of equipment.
4. Ground Balance Control (“14”)
It can eliminate "mineralization response" when the machine works under
balance to ground.
5. Identify Button(“10”)
It can recognize the metal and exclude the needn’t goal when the machine
is state of the identification.
6. Way of work button(“16”)
It has two gears: up is balance to ground; down is identification gear.
三． Actual detector way
1. Start to detect
Put battery in and power on, the light“6”is shining. Please observe the electricity meter
when beginning, generally, the pointer is not in the middle but to one side, press the zero
button and release it, the pointer will back to middle but gradually shift to one side, which
shows that the machine has not yet stable, can not used immediately. You can press zero
button several times, the pointer won’t shift after several minutes. It’s normal, at the
beginning, the machine has some time to preheat, during this time, you’d better referred to
the air fixed until the pointer back to zero, then you can use it. At the same time, you
should notice the power light, if the light is dimmed, you need to change the battery.
Operator held the handle moving along the ground slowly, the whole process of detecting,
the search head should be maintained and the distance between the ground for about
20cm.so as not to make mandrax from large to small changes in mandrax. Exjploration to
the metal, the sound equipment will be issued, while the meter scale indicators also directed.
Metal will be affected on detector, operator should removed watches, rings, metal belt
buckle, cigarette boxes and other metal debris, and can’t wear nail shoes, you’d better
wear cloth shoes and plastic shoes.
2. Ground Balanced Approach
The balance work methods, as long as move the search head to the goal of
any type of metal at the top, machine will be audible, the meter pointer will shift
to right at the same time. Steps are as follows:
2.1 Put power on: power light shinning.
2.2 Switching the working methods transferred to balance file
2.3 Put detector from ground about 60cm fixed, preheat machine for a while, press and release
zero button several times until the pointer back to zero and no longer shift.
2.4 Adjust critical voice
2.5 Let down the search head to the ground about 20cm, if the voice increase, lift the search
head (about 60cm) and turn balance button counterclockwise a little, then try. If the voice
still increase, turn it counterclockwise a little until the voice won’t change when lift and
release. If test according to the above method, the volume is reducing, it needs to adjust
the ground balance button clockwise until the voice won’t change.
In accordance with the above method for good balance, the equipment is basically eliminated
the “mineralization response” signal.
2.6 Search head along the ground search, keep about 20 cm between search head and ground.
It will sound when detect the metal, at the same time, the pointer shift from zero.
NOTE:
l If adjust at a certain place, no matter how to adjust and the voice is always increasing, it shows
that there is metal under ground. You should change a place to adjust the ground balance.
l Adjust the ground balance button every time, you should press zero button first, and then release
it and let search head down.
3. Identification
It has not ground balance function, so “mineralization response” very big, operators
should be auction.
Steps are as follows:
3.1 Put power on, power light shinning.
3.2 Transfer Working methods to recognition stalls
3.3 Preheating, and wait for the pointer back to zero.
3.4 Adjust critical voice
3.5 Recognition of ferrous and nonferrous metals:
Turn the button to “MIN”, ferrous(steel、iron) can make the voice larger, and the pointer will shift to right. Turn the button
to ”MAX”, nonferrous can make the voice larger, and the pointer will shift
to right.
3.6 Elimination other small goals
If detected soil has a lot of scrap metal debris, generally, they are
not useful, you can eliminate their alarm signal in advance when detect.
For example: encountered such a situation, you can take a nails on the
ground in advance and detect it, if the voice increase, press zero button
and turn identification button right (clockwise), release the zero button
and detect again. After adjust many times until the voice won’t change.
When ready, the nails and ferrous which are smaller than neils won’t make
the voice larger, but which are bigger than nails will make alarm larger.
Attention
1. Indoor test
1.1 Put away watches
rings and other jewellery, and then put the detector on the wooden or plastic on the table.
1.2 Adjust the angle of detection and make it parallel to the ceiling.
Note: Don’t use the detector on the floor of the building, since most
floor of the buildings have metal, they would interfere with the detected
objects or completely confused signal.
1.3 In a certain distance from search head, move the samples (for example, a gold ring
or coin) you want to test.
Note:
l The detector is unable to detect stationary objects, because at this time you didn’t
use detectors to search scanning, so you must move the test object.
l If you make money the plane (not side) and survey-parallel, it will be more easy to detect.
2. Outdoor test
2.1 Find a area without metal ourdoor.
2.2 Put the sample (gold ring or coin) you want to test on the ground. (If you
choose precious metal, such as gold, mark the area so that find it easily. Don’t put
the sample on the high trees and woods).
2.3 Held the detector, and set parallel to search head at a certain distance on
the ground, move detector slowly to search edge to edge (moving around) in the sample
region.
